The Company Alogique

Magic, storytelling, and emotions

Founded in 2018 by Laurent Piron, Hugo Van De Plas, and Sylvia Delsupexhe, Compagnie Alogique brings together artists who have been collaborating since 2011 on the creation and writing of theatrical magic shows. Its title at the World Magic Championships, the diversity of its creations, the organization of the first festival of contemporary magic forms in Belgium, its involvement in the Magie Nouvelle training program at the CNAC (National Center for Circus Arts), and its collaboration with Compagnie 14:20 undeniably place it among the leading figures of Magie Nouvelle in Belgium.

Driven by a constant desire for innovation, it offers contemporary and original magic shows, while making them accessible to a wide audience.

Compagnie Alogique reimagines magic. Here, illusion is not merely a technical feat: it is a language, a bridge between reality and emotion. Rooted in Magie Nouvelle, its artistic approach blends virtuosity, contemporary aesthetics, and poetic storytelling. It places magic at the heart of a human, visual, and sensory experience—a magic that makes you think, feel, and marvel.

The Compagny Alogique has established itself as a global leader in magic thanks to an exceptional artistic journey:

  • FISM Grand Prix (International Federation of Magical Societies) - 2022

  • Winner at Penn & Teller: Fool Us - 2025

  • The One Prize (Blackpool Magic Convention) - 2026

To date, no other artist from contemporary magic has accumulated these three major distinctions, a unique recognition in the history of this discipline.

Director, actor, independent landscape architect, set designer, producer… Hugo Van De Plas is not afraid to wear many hats.

His meeting with Laurent in 2011 led him to think about magic in a new way and together they created "13 rue du Hasard".

Following the success of this first show, he embarked on the "Battement de peur" adventure in 2016.
The new magic opens the doors to a more contemporary staging and offers him a new space for expression.
